Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid had a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart, His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, this evening.
During the telephone conversation, the two Ministers followed up on the discussions held during Minister Shahid’s recent visit to Saudi Arabia last November, and exchanged perspectives on pertinent regional and international developments of mutual interest. Furthermore, taking the strong bilateral relationship existing between Maldives and Saudi Arabia into account, both Ministers discussed prospects for cooperation between the two countries, and spoke on the potential for enhancing exchanges and collaboration, at great length.
Minister Shahid expressed appreciation for the continued support of the Saudi Leadership and Government towards the socio-economic development of Maldives, taking note of the special consideration shown towards Maldives by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud and Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
Both Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to enhance the brotherly relations and cooperation between Maldives and Saudi Arabia based on shared values, mutual respect and understanding, and to continue working together on issues of mutual concern.
