Foreign Minister Shahid holds a telephone call with the Foreign Minister of Malawi
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid held a telephone call with the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Malawi, Eisenhower Nduwa Mkaka, today.
During the telephone call, Minister Shahid and Minister Mkaka reaffirmed their commitment to enhance collaboration at the multilateral fora to address global issues of mutual importance, such as sustainable development, climate change and environmental degradation. Both Ministers expressed confidence to continue working closely together, especially within the United Nations and at the Commonwealth. The Foreign Ministers also discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Minister Shahid and Minister Mkaka further spoke on the situation of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, and the measures in place to mitigate its effects and strive towards a complete and comprehensive recovery, in their respective countries.
