Foreign Minister Moosa Zameer sends message of condolence to the Foreign Minister of Japan

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, Moosa Zameer sends a message of condolence to Kamikawa Yoko, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan, following the strong earthquake and tsunami which struck Ishikawa in central Japan.

Minister’s message reads as follows:

“I am deeply saddened to hear the news of the loss of lives, displacement of people and extensive damage to property and infrastructure, caused by the strong earthquake and tsunami which struck Ishikawa in central Japan on new year’s day.

On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, I would like to extend our deepest sympathies to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of Japan during this difficult time. I would also like to convey our sincere condolences to families of the bereaved, and those affected by the earthquake.

Please accept, Excellency, my best wishes for the good health, well-being and prosperity of the people of Japan and for a quick recovery from this disaster”
