Foreign Minister meets with Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) delegation

Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon has met with the Delegation of Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) this morning. During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this morning, the Foreign Minister expressed appreciation for the continuous positive engagement from the Commonwealth through CMAG to the Maldives. Foreign Minister also noted that Maldives as a country in the midst of democratic consolidation, has always enlisted the help of its international partners to strengthen the democratic institution.

The CMAG Delegation led by the Vice-Chair of CMAG, the Vice-President and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guyana, H.E. Mr Carl Greenidge, accompanied by the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs of Kenya, H.E. Dr Amina Mohamed and Foreign Secretary of India H.E. Dr S. Jaishankar is visiting the Maldives on an invitation from the Government. The Delegation will be holding discussions with Government officials and key stakeholders.

Today’s meeting at the Ministry was attended by Foreign Secretary, His Excellency Dr Ali Naseer Mohamed; Additional Secretary, Mr Ibrahim Shaheeb, Director General, Ms. Khadeeja Najeeha and other senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
