15 June 2014, Male':Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon has departed for Jeddah this evening for the Foreign Ministers' meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Minister Dunya is accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Abdullah Hameed, Ambassador-at-large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ms. Mariyam Midhfa Naeem, Assistant Director at the Ministry.
The 41st Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OIC would be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Foreign Ministers of the fifty-seven member organization is expected to discuss ways in addressing some of the major challenges facing the Islamic Ummah.
The OIC was established in September 1969. The Maldives joined the organisation in 1976.
