2 June 2013, Male':Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, His Excellency Dr. Abdul Samad Abdullah paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand today.
During the meeting, held at the Kurumba Maldives, Her Excellency Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra assured His Excellency Dr Abdul Samad Abdulla of the commitment of the Government of Thailand to strengthen close ties with the Maldives.The Prime Minister added that establishment of the Joint Commission between the two countries would be a positive avenue to discuss promotion of investments, trade, and to explore other avenues for collaboration.
Reflecting on the discussions at the official talks held between the two Governments yesterday, His Excellency Dr. Abdul Samad Abdullah said he looks forward to working closely with the Thai Government to further consolidate and diversify the bilateral relations between the Maldives and Thailand.
