Minister of Foreign Affairs, Abdulla Shahid paid a courtesy call on the Prime Minister of Cambodia, Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen today, during the Prime Minister’s Official Visit to the Maldives.

At the meeting held at Paradise Island Resort, Minister Shahid welcomed the Prime Minister and his delegation to the Maldives and reaffirmed the view of the Government of Maldives, that both countries can pursue closer cooperation on all aspects of bilateral relations, as well as regionally and internationally.

Minister Shahid further stated that the agreements signed today, will be mutually beneficial to both the people of Maldives and Cambodia and noted that the Visa Exemption Agreement will increase cooperation in the future and will allow greater people-to-people contact. Minister Shahid also noted that the Maldives stands ready to implement the outcomes agreed upon by the two leaders during the Official Talks held in the morning at the President’s Office.   Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen is currently on an Official Visit to the Maldives from 15 – 17 January 2023 at the invitation of the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
