25 August 2013, Male'; Minister of Foreign Affairs H. E. Dr. Abdul Samad Abdullah's Funeral Prayers in absentia was held in all inhabited islands of the Maldives today after the Asr prayers.
In capital Male' the funeral prayers in absentia were held at Masjidul Sultan Mohamed Takurufaanul Auzam.
The funeral of late Minister Samad was held today in Singapore after Noon prayers. The funeral was attended by Vice President of the Maldives H. E. Mohamed Waheed Deen, family members, Ambassador at Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H. E. Abdul Azeez Yoosuf, Maldives High Commissioner to Singapore H. E. Mohamed Khaleel and the staff members of the Maldives High Commission.
Late Dr. Samad was buried in Chaachukan Cemetery in Singapore.
