Ceremony held to inaugurate the Foakaidhoo Community Centre
The inauguration of Foakaidhoo Community Centre facilitated under Indian grant assistance was held today in Shaviyani Foakaidhoo. The Community Centre was jointly inaugurated by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid and Minister of External Affairs of India, Dr. S. Jaishankar.
Speaking at the event, Minister Shahid highlighted that the Community Centre inaugurated today will have a positive impact on the community development of the island as the Centre will open opportunities for community interaction through a range of activities and interests for all age groups. During the Ceremony the Minister of External Affairs of India also delivered a statement.
The Foakaidhoo Community Centre development project is valued at 5.2 million Rufiyaa and has been completed under the Indian grant assistance scheme of 106 million Rufiyaa provided in 2019.
Minister of External Affairs, Dr. Jaishankar is on an Official Visit to Maldives on the invitation of Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid from 18 to 19 January 2023.
