18thAugust 2011, Male'; The British High Commissioner to Maldives His Excellency Mr. John Rankin today called on the Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Dr. Abdul Samad Abdullah.
At the meeting the Minister briefed High Commissioner Rankin on the current political situation in the Maldives and thanked the United Kingdom for the assistance provided towards democracy strengthening in the Maldives. Discussions were further held on the existing bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to further strengthen these ties.
The meeting, which was held at the Minister of Foreign Affairs was also attended by the Foreign Secretary Mr. Mohamed Naseer.
