05th December 2012, Male'; The British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Maldives His Excellency Mr. John Rankin and Ambassador of Germany to Maldives His Excellency Dr. Jürgen Morhardpaid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
At the meeting, State Minister Ms Dunya highlighted the close bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Germany and expressed her gratitude to both countries for standing by the Maldives through difficult times. State Minister also expressed confidence that the Governments of United Kingdom and Germany would continue to extend their assistance and support towards sustaining the development of the Maldives, as well as consolidating the democracy in the country.
The State Minister also shared with the ambassadors the current political situation and challenges faced by the country.
The meeting was attended by Ms Khadeeja Zahir, Joint Secretary and Ms. Shiuneen Rasheed, Assistant Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
