The Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Republic of Maldives, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdulla Khaleel this afternoon.
During the meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Dr. Khaleel conveyed the Government’s deep appreciation to Ambassador Marcelo González Garrido for his invaluable contributions to strengthening the relations between the two nations. Minister expressed appreciation for the excellent services rendered by Cuban doctors in the island communities.
Ambassador Marcelo González expressed sincere gratitude to the Government and people of the Maldives for the warm hospitality and friendship extended to him during his tenure. He expressed hope for strengthened ties between the two countries in the future.
Minister Dr. Khaleel extended his best wishes to Ambassador Marcelo González in his future endeavours and reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Maldives’ support and cooperation to the incoming Ambassador of Cuba.
Foreign Minister Dr. Khaleel was accompanied by Secretary Dr. Hala Hameed, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mohamed Shahyb , Senior Under Secretary Hassan Hussain Shihab and Assistant Director Aminath Warudha.
