26th November 2013, Male'; His Excellency Mr. Yu Hong Yao, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Maldives paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon, Minister of Foreign Affairs today.
Ambassador congratulated Minister on her appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and reiterated that Maldives and China share a privileged relationship. Minister thanked Ambassador for his felicitations and highlighted the historical bonds of friendship between the people of Maldives and China.
During the call, Minister and Ambassador also exchanged views on further strengthening the close bilateral relations between the two countries.
The meeting was also attended by Mr. Hassan Shifau, Permanent Secretary and Ms. Fathimath Inaya, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
