04 June 2014, UAE; Ambassador at Large, His Excellency Mr. Abdulla Hameed who is currently on an Official Visit to UAE has today called on the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of UAE, His Excellency Dr. Anwar Mohammed Gargash.
At the meeting held, Ambassador Hameed extended greetings and good wishes from the Government and the people of Maldives to the Government and the people of UAE.
Furthermore, Ambassador Hameed remarked at the value attached by the Government of Maldives in respect of the bilateral ties that exist between the two countries, and highlighted the attributes of shared values, and mutual respect, that underlie the close relations.
During the meeting, Ambassador and State Minister discussed ways of further strengthening the existing close relations between the Maldives and UAE, with an emphasis on greater economic cooperation in the areas of trade, investment and education.
Today, Ambassador also met the Director General of Abu Dhabi Fund, Mr. Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi and Director of Diplomatic Affairs of UAE Foreign Ministry, Mr. Abdul Wahhab Al Najjar.
Ambassador Hameed departed to UAE on 3 June 2014 to undertake the official visit and will return to Maldives on 6 June 2014.
