17 March 2014, Male'; His Excellency Abdul hamid Abdul fattah Kazem Al Mulla, Ambassador-Designate of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Maldives has paid a courtesy call on Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon, Minister of Foreign Affairs today.
During the meeting, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Dunya welcomed the Ambassador-Designate and conveyed the greetings and good wishes from the Government and people of the Maldives to the Government and the people of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Minister Dunya further conveyed her felicitations to the Government and the people of UAE for the continuing progress that the country has been achieving. Minister Dunya also noted the close ties of friendship that exist between the two countries, and expressed her confidence that the bilateral relations between the two countries would continue to grow from strength to strength.
During the meeting, Minister Dunyaand the Ambassador-Designate also discussed about the opportunities for expanding relations between the two countries. In this regard, they highlighted economic development, fisheries and tourism as areas cooperation.
The meeting was also attended by H.E Dr. Ali Mohamed Naseer, Foreign Secretary and Ms. Aishath Azeema, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
