19th November 2012, Male'; His Excellency Mr. Alexander Karchava, Ambassador-Designate of the Federation of Russia met with His Excellency Dr. Abdul Samad Abdullah, Minister of Foreign Affairs prior to presenting his credentials today to the President of Maldives His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Waheed.
The Minister and Ambassador - Designate discussed deepening relations between the two countries, and discussed various ways to strengthened between Russia and Maldives. The Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment, and both remarked that they looked forward to the continuation of close friendly relations between Russia and Maldives.
This meeting was attended by Her Excellency Ms. Dunya Maumoon, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Ms. Aminath Guraisha, Senior Desk Officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
