25 June 2014, Male'; The Government of Maldives and Sri Lanka have held official talks, led by President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and the Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The President reiterated the government's commitment to enhance the welfare of the people, develop and diversify the economy, strengthen social cohesion within the country, and empower the youth.
At the meeting, discussions were also held on the regional and international issues of mutual concern.
