The Government of Maldives strongly condemns the multiple missile and drone attacks towards the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 22 June 2020 and 23 June 2020.

At this difficult time in which the world must unite in combatting the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, such acts adversely impact the engagements to confront the pandemic.

Moreover, such terrorist acts demonstrate a threat to the security of the region and the world and negatively impact the efforts by the parties concerned to find peaceful solution to the conflicts in the region.

The Government of Maldives reaffirms its solidarity with the brotherly people and the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and reiterates its steadfast commitment to the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.
