Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reallocated its headquarters to a new building at block number 77, Henveiru, Boduthkaurufaanu Magu on 15 September 2005. The building was designed and constructed by the Chinese Government in September 2005 as a contribution from the Chinese Government. The building is designed in a way to reduce the need for electric lighting during the day and to be an attractive structure, rather than monumental, which would blend elegantly into its highly developed surroundings. The new Ministry building is an extension of the old building with 7 floors and has a large conference room with smaller meeting rooms in almost every floor.
