This is the first time Schengen Visa Application Service is provided in the Maldives, and is the result of the close bilateral ties between Germany and the Maldives. While speaking about the process, Foreign Minister Dr. Mohamed Asim said that the Government of Maldives is grateful that the Government of Germany is providing this service in the Maldives, as this would ease the difficulties Maldivians face while applying for Visas to travel to Germany, including those participating in Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin (ITB) Fair in March.
