The Non-Resident Ambassador of Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Maldives, Her Excellency Madam Phan Kieu Thu, paid a farewell call on the Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Asim this morning.

At the meeting held today both Minister Asim and Ambassador discussed on exploring ways to further consolidate the bilateral ties that exist between the two countries.

Highlighted that the Vietnam remains an important bilateral development partner of the Maldives. Minister Asim, noted the growing number of Maldivians travelling to Vietnam for various purposes, including for trade and commerce.

Minister Asim and Ambassador Thu expressed hopes of further strengthening the existing close and friendly relations between the two countries.

Foreign Minister Asim was accompanied by Ms. Zahiya Zareer, Ambassador at-Large, and Ms. Lauza Ali, Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
